It's been a while...time to update...

The last year just flew by and I realize the last time I posted was Iain's first day of first grade...Now he's in second grade and a lot has happened since that day a year ago...

First Day of 1st Grade

Iain started first grade at Fremont Open Plan on August 10, 2011. He is enjoying first grade and loves the Open Plan community! We are so happy he is there and will enjoy watching him blossom into a life-long learner!

Eddie David Soccer 2011

 Iain attended Eddie David's Soccer Camp again this summer and put his soccer skills to the test! Two weeks of camp and he was doing tricks and playing against the big kids! We love Eddie David! Uncle Jim and the rest of the Pfaff family joined us on the last day for the kids vs. parents game. Auntie Lisa was showing off her soccer prowess on the field!

Camping in the Redwoods!

We finally made it back to Humboldt this summer! We camped in Trinidad in the beautiful redwood trees and we felt like we were home! With the exception of a skunk, we were critter free. Iain spent the mornings building legos and riding his bike. We got a chance to see our good friends Bob and Laura and enjoy some microbrews at the tasting room in Blue Lake and then dinner at their new home in sunny Blue Lake! We also made it to the plaza in Arcata and enjoyed a few of our favorite things only Humboldt has to offer! We miss it there so much! On our drive home we stopped in Myers Flat and the boys did a little fishing!

Our Trip to Redding

I haven't seen my grandparents in several years, so we decided to take a little detour to Redding on our way to a Humboldt camping adventure. We spent a few days at Whiskeytown Lake for the 4th of July holiday and visited with my Grandparents, sister Misty, neices Sadie and Asa and aunts, uncles and cousins. We had a great time. Grandpa took us out on the boat for a little tubing and we spent lots of time around the campfire listening to great music! It was nice to see everyone!

Tahoe Cabin Adventure

Another summer vacation in Tahoe at the Homewood cabin! We had a great time. Walked everyday, built legos, read books, played at the beach brrrrrr!, rode bikes and enjoyed good food! It was a nice escape from Modesto. Iain was in his element in the beautiful outdoors!

Friend & Family Camping Trip

We spent four days at Don Pedro Lake with the Scarbrough and Govett families just after school ended! The boys (Noah, Cooper, Joshua,Marcus & Iain) had a great time riding their bikes, roasting marshmallows, catching bugs, exploring the environment, swimming, fishing and tubing the lake.  Angela and Ross brought everything but the kitchen sink which made life in the great outdoors pretty easy! The boat was a bonus--nothing like a day on the lake! We had a great time...good food, good fun and good company! Let's do it again next year!
