100 Days of School Project

Wednesday, January 26, 2011 Iain was 100 days smarter! His school and kindergarten  celebrated in style! Lots of counting, lots of snacks, lots of fun! For his 100 Days of School Project Iain counted out 100 jelly beans that became dragon eggs for his dragon nest. That nest sat outside a medieval castle defended by Drake the mighty dragon. We had so much fun helping him with his project! It was a weekend adventure and Iain learned how to be resourceful by finding materials around the house to give it the perfect touch!

Piano Solo Night-January 2011

Iain is doing a fantastic job in piano. He is more than half way through book one and building quite the repertoire. For the January solo night he played "French Childrens Song" perfectly! It was awesome! Miss Peggy was very proud of him. Check out the video!

Happy 5th Birthday Cooper!

BOWLING!!! Iain joined his friend Cooper at Yosemite Bowl to celebrate Cooper's 5th birthday! They had a grand time...playing a couple video games, a game of air hockey with mom, eating pizza, enjoying cupcakes and icecream, opening presents, dancing and bowling. Iain was also mesmerized between turns with the baby at the party! He was super cute with him! Bowling was fun! The kids even got to explore the bowling ally from behind the lanes. It was super cool! Cooper was the perfect FIVE year old! Thank you Cooper for such a fun day! We love you!

A Special Guest...

Iain brought home the class bear, Osito for the second time this year. We had a great adventure. In addition to the piano recital, birthday party and 100 days of school project, Iain played with Osito in his room and danced with him to his favorite song "Dynamite." They had a blast together! Osito wasn't alone. He met all of Iains dragons and knights and also spent time with Iain's number one friend Monkey! The bed was a little crowded but there was definitely room for one more! Thanks for visiting us Osito!

Rising Star

Tamra was nominated and chosen as a JEA Rising Star adviser and will be honored at the JEA/NSPA Spring Nation Convention in Anaheim! Her staff's 2010 yearbook was also nominated for a CSPA Crown award, one of the two highest honors a publication can achieve. This is the second year in a row her yearbook has been given this honor. We are excited! Congrats!

Kindergarten Volunteer Day Again!

I've had a few rare opportunities to volunteer in Iain's classroom--mostly during furlough days and holidays that our district doesn't share with his. Iain especially loves having me there. His favorite part of me being there is eating lunch in the cafeteria with him and taking photos of him during recess with his friends. He loves to play Star Wars with Kaled, Jayden and Daniel. He is always so animated and engaged at school so it's fun to see him in his environment running and being a boy!

A sleepover with cousin Chet!

During our winter break Iain had a chance to spend time with friends and family. He and Chet had so much fun on Christmas night that we set up a sleepover the following week. They had a great time and really got  along well.

New Years Celebrations!

After a long day on the slopes we joined our friends to ring in the new year! Thank you Angela for being an awesome host as always! Iain enjoyed staying up late with hi pals--Cooper, Marcus, Josh and Noah! Happy New Year to all!
