Granpda Harold Visits

Grandpa Harold stayed for two weeks in Modesto with us. Iain enjoyed having him here. Gramps we miss and love you and look forward to our next visit! Here are some family photos we took with Gramps, Papa, and our family. Iain's cousin Chet had a difficult time saying goodbye.

Summer Swim Lessons

Iain took swim lessons at Aquatic Dreams this summer and LOVED IT! He wants to return in the winter months to prepare for the Modesto Sharks swim team next spring! He's become a fish! Yay for life long skills! Lucky boy!

Eddie David Soccer Camp 2010 FUN!

Iain had a great week at soccer camp meeting new friends, building skills for the game and having fun! Soccer Rocks!!! Coach Cindy and Coach Eddie were fantastic with the kids! Iain loved seeing his pal Armaan everyday too!

Eddie David Soccer Camp 2010

Iain started soccer camp today and was very excited! He dressed in his soccer clothes Sunday night and asked to sleep in them. There was a cool breeze so it helped make the heat tolerable. Iain had a great time and was pooped out after the three hour camp. His baseball buddie Armaan was there too so they had a great time together!

Nice Family Reunion at Big Sur!

The Nice Family reunion was awesome as we spent four days in the beautiful Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. There were sixty plus family members in attendance including Jim's 96 year old grandma who spent the day outdoors watching the horseshoe tournament, the waterballoon fights, the card games and kid events and visiting with her nine children and countless grand and great grand children. Iain was so happy to be outdoors and exercised a great deal of freedom as he rode around the park on his bike with his cousins and explored the forest and river with his parents. We love Big Sur and we love family reunions!

Summer Swimmer!

Iain has found a new confidence in the water this summer and has made great use of our swimming pool. He took one month of swim lessons at Aquatic Dreams and attended several swim parties with friends...positive peer pressure is a beautiful thing! If he sees someone his age do something then he is determined to do it himself! It's been fun watching him evolve in such a short period of time from the tentative "swimmer" with a floating device that he started out as this summer to the dare devil he's become!

Learning to ride a bike!

Iain first attempted riding his bike without training wheels the summer after turning 4 years old but decided after a few unfriendly falls that it was simply too soon and he would wait instead until he was 5 years old. On July 18th he woke up and declared to Jim that he was ready and asked him to remove the training wheels. Dad did and twenty minutes later they two boys were cruising around the block--Iain on his bike and dad on foot. Mom was out of town and came home to her proud boys--one covered in scrapes and bruises that weren't there when she left. :-)

More birthday fun with friends!

Iain joined his friends to celebrate Lily's birthday as they enjoyed the summer sun playing on the slip n' slide, eating cotton candy and watching a magic show. Happy Birthday Lily!
