Happy 70th Papa Dan & Aunt Ann

We had a wonderful birthday celebration for Papa Dana and Aunt Ann's 70th birthday at Denise's house. The kids enjoyed the pool and each other while the adults enjoyed the company, the beverages and the food. It was a a crazy bunch but we had fun. The night included swimming for kids, video montage of Ann & Dan the early years, JibJab videos (for laughs), Karaoke, and lots of great food. Thank you Denise for hosting and to all the cousins for their contributions to make this a memorable event for Ann & Dan! Happy Birthday!

Many reasons to celebrate!

It was a beautiful day in San Francisco as we rode bikes through Golden Gate Park and celebrated the arrival of summer, our family, our marriage, and Jim for Father's Day. We have been married for 7 years now and it has truly been amazing. On our drive to the city we reminisced about our favorite moments throughout our marriage and we both feel blessed for all the experiences we've shared!

It was a perfect way to honor Jim for Father's Day and celebrate our marriage with Iain as a family.

Toy Story 3!

Iain had his best friend Jagger over for a movie and sleepover. We arrived fifteen minutes early and luckily found seats even though the place was packed. The movie was great! A couple scary moments for the boys and some very sentimental moments for the mommies in the room, but the movie did not disappoint. Well done Disney!


















We got Thrifty's icecream cones afterward and then came home for a swim in the pool! The boys played non-stop the rest of the evening until they crashed at 10pm (way past bedtime, but it was a special night for them both!)

Goodbye Auntie Kate!

Auntie Kate stopped by for a last goodbye the day before she left for Chile! We are so proud of her and so excited for the amazing experience and opportunities she has found! We will miss you Kate! Keep us posted on your travel experiences! We love you!

Bug Safari

Iain asked to attend the Bug Safari Vacation Bible Camp hosted at his preschool this week. It's been fun talking about all the cool bugs they are learning about and listening to him recite his memory verses each evening when he returns. He was very proud of himself Monday night when he was chosen to bring home a poster size photo of a Goliath tarantula (I wasn't pleased, but I put on a happy face). He is such a lover of nature and it's cool to listen to him retell a story with such authority and confidence. A couple of weeks ago I was spraying the tub out so I could run him a bath and I washed a big black spider down the drain on purpose. He cried for an hour straight and asked me over and over again through his tears, "Mom, how could you do that? He was trying to get away!" He was so sad and I felt horrible. Needless to say, bugs are now our friends (except mosquitoes and flies) and we are doing our best to live Gandhi's Golden Rule of "Do no harm."

Happy 5th Birthday Iain!!!

We celebrated Iain's 5th birthday at Freedom Park with all his friends and cousins. After eating hotdogs, chips, caprisuns, and dinosaur cupcakes, the kids had a blast exploring the playground, getting wet and joining in the dinosaur bone excavation and egg relay races. They were masked in dinosaur faces and took home everything they need to begin their training as Paleontologists!

Baseball Season Ends

Iain and Jim enjoyed the baseball season and it is finally over! The trophies were awarded after the last game at a pizza party and accolades were made toward all the awesome parents who helped make the season fun! Thank you parents. Thank you kiddos! We made some fun memories and good friends!

Parkwood Preschool Graduation 2010

After more than three years at Parkwood Christian Preschool, Iain is ready to begin kindergarten in the fall. He was very excited to participate in the graduation ceremony at school with all his friends but also a little concerned about changing schools. After the ceremony ended he asked, "Mom do I have to start a new school tomorrow?" We put his heart at ease and let him know he has all summer to prepare for kindergarten at a new school.

Iain is so sweet with Noelani...he treats her like he would a little sister. Gentle, kind, loving and so full of concern for her. It's obvious in the way he hugs her! :-) What a sweet boy!
